About Julia
Where science meets compassion - and your story is truly heard.
I’m Julia - a GP with 37 years of NHS experience, trained in genomic medicine and nutritional science, and a therapeutic parenting coach. I’m also a mother to a neurodiverse child and an adopted child. Which means I don’t just understand the science - I understand the reality.
I know what it’s like to sit in waiting rooms with questions no one seems able to answer. I know the emotional weight of advocating for your child when systems dismiss your concerns. I know the silent burnout of doing everything you can and still feeling like it’s not enough.
And I know how powerful it can be to finally feel seen, supported, and understood.
My Approach
I use high-quality DNA testing and detailed nutrigenomic reports to help you or your child understand what’s really going on under the surface - whether it’s poor sleep, mood swings, focus struggles, food sensitivities, hormone shifts, or burnout.
But this isn’t just about test results.
I’ll sit with you. I’ll explain everything in plain language. I’ll hold space for the fear, the frustration, and the deep desire to help your child - or yourself - feel better.
Together, we’ll turn complex information into clear, manageable steps that are rooted in science, but shaped with care.

How I Found Nutrigenomics - and Why Lifecode Gx
My journey into nutrigenomics began unexpectedly at a One of Many BeWealth retreat, where a colleague introduced me to the concept. I had studied genetics at college but hadn’t revisited it in years - I was amazed at how far the field had progressed and how accessible it had become.
Curiosity quickly turned personal. I wanted to understand my own DNA and discover how I could optimise my health and support my family’s wellbeing. Once I started learning, I couldn’t stop - I enrolled in the very next Nutrigenomics Practitioner Programme.
The more I learned, the more I realised the potential this science held for people who, in my medical practice, were often left with limited options - women who couldn’t or didn’t want to take HRT, children and adults who didn’t respond to ADHD medication, and patients seeking alternatives to pharmaceuticals. Optimising gene expression could be their way forward.
Lifecode Gx stood out to me immediately - not only for the quality of their science, data protection, and educational support, but for their philosophy. They shared my values: integrity, compassion, and a commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge.
This Is Personal
This work isn’t just professional for me - it’s personal.
My vision is to create a world where personalised, preventative health is the norm. Where parents and individuals feel empowered, not overwhelmed. Where care is rooted in understanding, not judgment.
If you’ve been looking for answers - and a gentler way forward - I’d be honoured to support you.
Outside of Work
Outside of work, I’m an avid reader (and audiobook listener), an active member of my local book club, and an aspiring author currently writing several books. I meet regularly with a creative writing group for inspiration and support. I’m also a One of Many Coach and Trainer, and a Therapeutic Parenting Coach supporting parents of children who have experienced trauma or are neurodiverse.
I’m a mother to three children - one adopted, one stepchild, and one child with autism - and my family life has shaped my passion for personalised, compassionate approaches to health and wellbeing.
For relaxation, I love running and am currently training for the Great North Run. I enjoy swimming whenever I can, adore camping, and share my home with two lovable bulldogs and a husband! My happiest moments are spent laughing with friends and family.
Nutrigenomics
Nutrigenomics explores the effects of lifestyle and dietary factors on genetic predisposition. Although genetic makeup cannot be changed, modifying behaviours can help mitigate genetic influences. Nutrigenomic testing offers valuable insights into the interaction between individual lifestyle choices and genetics, supporting the development of personalised strategies to improve health and well-being.
Nutrigenomics is the science of how your genes interact with your diet, lifestyle, and environment. It doesn’t tell you what’s wrong with you — it shows you what your body needs to function at its best.
Your DNA holds the blueprint for how your body responds to nutrients, stress, toxins, and more. And while you can’t change your genes, you can change how they express themselves - through what you eat, how you rest, how you move, and how you support your system day to day.
A personalised DNA report gives you insights that most health tests can’t - helping you move from confusion to clarity, from coping to thriving.
We offer a range of individual reports, detailed below, as well as some excellent packages combining up to ten reports. Take a look at our store for more information on packages.
Working with Lifecode Gx®
I work with Lifecode Gx®, a company specialising in nutrigenomics testing and education that applies genomics science to support a preventative, proactive, and personalised approach to health. I completed their Nutrigenomics Practitioner Programme in early 2025.
Nutrigenomic testing provides detailed information about DNA, allowing individuals to understand their personal genetic makeup. Variations in genetic composition (‘SNPs’) can influence various aspects of life and health, including hormones, cardiovascular systems, metabolism, and mental health.
Lifecode Gx® offers several specialist nutrigenomics test panels that examine how nutrition and lifestyle factors may interact with genetic potential. The reports focus on specific clinical areas, such as nervous system function, hormone regulation, or detoxification. Genotype results are interpreted alongside nutrition and environmental factors like sleep, stress, physical activity, and chemical exposure.
The reports include colour-coded pathway diagrams that summarise findings visually and provide detailed information about the risks or resilience associated with each genotype. This approach aims to offer a comprehensive understanding and support identification of which lifestyle changes may be beneficial.
